Liffey Light Orchestra's new album

Jigs and Other Stories, now available

This, the 4th studio album from the Liffey Light Orchestra, mixes Irish traditional, folk, and progressive rock influences.

Musicians featured include Anto Drennan (electric and acoustic guitars), Michael Buckley (flute), John McCullough (flute), David Agnew (oboe and recorder), Robbie Harris (bodhrán and shaker),  Kevin Rowe (electric guitar), Philip Begley (piano and drums), and Paul Egan (piano).

Beginnings as a tribute band

The Liffey Light Orchestra grew out of the theatre pit band at Dublin University Players, the drama society at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. It became a Mike Oldfield and Jean-Michel Jarre tribute band, being among the first bands to perform Oldfield's Tubular Bells and Jarre's Oxygene, and the first to perform Oldfield's Ommadawn .
